He announced on Monday that the "romantic side" of his relationship with Ms Marney was over.

Mr Bolton, who left his wife just before Christmas, was spotted having dinner with Ms Marney on Wednesday night.

The pair dined and drank together at the National Liberal Club in the heart of Westminster last night. She's now going back to Maidstone and I'm now going back home'.

He added that he "hadn't been as happy for many years" as he was during the romance with Ms Marney.

He said that they were going back to their separate homes, but photographs obtained by the Guido Fawkes website showed them later in the evening at the railway station in Folkestone, where he has a flat.

The Mail On Sunday printed texts it said had been sent by Ms Marney, including use of the word "Negro" and a message reading "This is Britain, not Africa" during a discussion about the royal engagement.

They included a series from Marney about child abuse and the rape of a baby.

Bolton, who has been facing calls from within his own party to resign, said he and his former girlfriend Jo Marney had been through a hard time, after the pair were spotted together at a restaurant in Westminster.

The Ukip leader who appeared on TV to say he had broken up with his girlfriend over alleged racist texts has apparently not ended things after all.

Ex-staffers branded it an organisation "run by lunatics" and "dying a slow and painful death".

His reiterated that his "political enemies" were exploiting Ms Marney.

"What I'd say to them is: you want to challenge my leadership, you want to challenge my politics, do it in an open forum, do it openly, do not do it covertly and exploit anybody in doing so because to do so is explicable, particularly the way they've gone about it".

While declaring himself "appalled" by the messages, he said he believed some of them had been "doctored" by political enemies.

"Prominent individuals both inside and outside the party have cooperated with leftwing media to intentionally destabilise the party during this time and turn the members against me", he wrote.
