Hundreds of school choice supporters - parents, students, teachers, and community leaders - will band together at a coalition-style celebration timed to coincide with National School Choice Week in Montgomery on Thursday, January 25. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend the event at the Alabama State Capitol.

Gov. Eric Holcomb will deliver remarks and present his School Choice Week proclamation at the 2018 Institute Quality Education National School Choice Week Breakfast, which will take place 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Shula's in The Westin Indianapolis. "It has been exciting to see the enthusiasm for choice grow".

More than 32,000 independently planned events across all 50 states, including 350 in Arkansas, will celebrate opportunity in education.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort created to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child.

"Every year we look forward to National School Choice Week as a time when we can share the personal stories and highlight the positive impacts that having one of the nation's most robust educational choice environments has brought to IN, our communities and our families", said Betsy Wiley, IQE president and CEO. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
