Despite suffering a hand injury in practice this week, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will play, as expected, in the AFC Championship Game. "But how Tom runs this offense - it's just a great system and he has great control". It always finds a way to overcome.

Tom Brady started in the New England Patriots' AFC Championship game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

"I'd have thought you were insane to think that or I was insane to think that", Brady said when asked how he'd have reacted in the year 2000 if someone told him he'd have a chance to win three Super Bowls in four years twice in his career.

- Adam Vinatieri was a rookie who kicked two field goals against the Jaguars in the 1996 AFC championship game.

In the big game, the Patriots will play the victor of the Philadelphia Eagles-Minnesota Vikings matchup. It's a legitimate issue", Rapoport said, later adding: "There was a lot of blood. This has just all been ...

"We were getting three-and-outs, three-and-outs, three-and-outs". I don't think anyone will ever take them for granted.

Brady split open his right thumb on Wednesday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

The Patriots closed to within 20-17 four plays later, but they punted on their next possession. With it, Brady and Bill Belichick would have a dozen Super Bowl rings between them, a legacy that likely goes unmatched into the future.

If the Eagles get past the Vikings, it'll set up a rematch of Super Bowl 39, when New England earned a thrilling 24-21 win. At the back of the end zone, the former Texas Tech standout leaped high in the air to catch the ball and got both feet down in bounds before his momentum carried him out of the end zone.

Somehow Amendola managed to keep his feet in bounds on the play. For several years now, they've been mired with poor quarterback play, bad roster decisions and much more.

'I'm not talking about that, ' he said when asked about his hand and status for Sunday's game.

"We're not talking about open-heart surgery here", Belichick said, with typical sarcasm, after the game. I'm always looking for him at some point. He's a big part of what we do. Brady wore a glove on the hand at a Friday news conference and declined to answer any questions about the severity of the injury. We quickly learned that all the drama was much ado about nothing. And Danny Amendola did it all, catching two touchdowns, returning a punt 20 yards, and even completing a pass for 20 yards.

- Drew Bledsoe led the Patriots to the Super Bowl in 1996 with that victory against the Jaguars. Belichick significantly downplayed the injury. "I knew where to get to and Tom had a laser, and it was flawless".

"You cherish these moments and opportunities, and I know we've had quite a few of them, which we've been very blessed to do", Brady said after the Patriots' 24-20 win over the Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game.

Brady got his mojo back after Adam Butler sacked Bortles on third-and-13 just shy of the two-minute warning, giving the Patriots the ball at their own 15 yard-line. I'm siding with defense, although the Patriots were certainly great defensively a week ago.

Now, New England will head to Super Bowl LII while the Jaguars are left reeling from the heartbreaking defeat.

Then Bortles and the creative Jags offence - coordinated by Nathaniel Hackett - went to work again, marching 77 yards in 10 plays on clever mix of runs and throws to take a 14-3 lead with 7:06 left in the second quarter.

"It's pretty fantastic. Just to be on a team that wins these kinds of games, it's just a great accomplishment", Brady said. Church was called for unnecessary roughness on the play, and Gronkowski seemed woozy on his feet. They had three players have over 1,000 all-purpose yards, Dion Lewis, Brandon Cooks, and Rob Gronkowski!
