A man allegedly pulled a 22-year-old woman out of a auto and raped her while three of his companions held her husband and brother-in-law at gunpoint in Gurugram's Sector 56 on Monday evening, the police told PTI.

The men then dragged the complainant out of the vehicle.

The police arrested the four men who have been identified as Deshvir, Dharmender, Pawan and Sanjeet, who allegedly raped the woman.

The family was returning from a function when they stopped their auto in Sector 56 as the woman's husband had to use the toilet.

This is the tenth rape case in Gurugram which has come to light over the last ten days, but still, the State government is failing to provide the security to the Women. There were six people in the auto, including the brother in-law's son, who was at the wheel.

According to the police complaint, two cars suddenly arrived at the spot. "The accused have said they were unaware of what Sanjeet was doing when they were fighting".

An FIR under the sections of 376 (rape), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (Criminal act by several people) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the four men who belong to the Johalka village near Sohna of Gurgaon.

The woman hails from West Bengal and lives with her family in a rented accommodation in Gurgaon.

The woman was returning home after attending a family function in her brother-in-law's vehicle. While returning back, her husband got out of the auto to relieve himself when a group of men, apparently drunk, pulled over and asked them the reason for stopping their vehicle. After he got down, the nephew also stepped out to drink water. The four assailants in two cars stopped near the woman's vehicle, while asking why the auto has been stopped at the spot began to attack the husband, according to media reports.

"We managed to trace the four, as the victim's husband had noted the registration number of the vehicle", said Gurugram police.
