Jabalpur: The Indian Army's intelligence wing on Wednesday detained a Lt. Colonel in Jabalpur in connection with a case of honey trap, said sources.

According to officials, the MI searched the lieutanant-colonel's office, checked his computers, sifted through his files, and seized documents.

The officer detained was working in the Jabalpur workshop, news agency ANI reported, citing sources.

The officer in question is now posted at Army base workshop and was on radar following a major financial transaction through his account, reported the Times of India.

The detention of the Lt Colonel-rank official comes barely a week after Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Arun Marwaha was arrested on charges of sharing sensitive information to Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI).

Marwaha was reportedly using his smartphone to click pictures of the classified documents containing combat exercises at the IAF headquarters and sending them across via WhatsApp. Investigations revealed that it took seven months for ISI to honey-trap the officer.
