Tottenham winger Erik Lamela is open to joining Inter Milan.

FC claim that the north Londoners are weighing up the possibility of activating an option in the Argentina international's current agreement to tie him down until the summer of 2020.

According to Calciomercato, Lamela is aware of Inter's interest and is "open to the move", although Spurs are believed to be reluctant to allow their former record signing to leave the club.

Mauricio Pochettino felt Lamela's experience in Serie A and his intensity would be greater assets than Son Heung-Min's pace and finishing against the Scudetto holders and the Spurs manager is a supporter of Lamela, who has divided the club's fanbase.

That became a four-plus-two-plus-one - but Spurs are claimed to be in no rush to activate it just yet.

Throughout his time in North London he has been plagued by injuries, totally a year and a half on the sidelines.

Lamela's gradual reintegration into the team was accelerated with a start in Tuesday's Champions League round-of-16 first leg against Juventus, where he justified his inclusion with a typically energetic and combative performance in a 2-2 draw.

With a minute remaining in the game, Lamela was replaced by Spurs debutant Lucas Moura.

But the star insists he wants to go nowhere, saying last month: "I'm happy at Tottenham". "If not, I would have left".
