I've been charged with terrorism for holding political gathering, says Imran

Upon this Judge Shahrukh Arjumand, Khan asked him to address the court through his lawyer.

Gondal pleaded with the judge to announce a decision pertaining to his client's acquittal before the charges framed against him.

The judge then remarked that a notice to the prosecution would be issued to prepare the arguments over the requests.

He then adjourned the hearing till February 26.

Prior to court proceedings, Khan alighted from his vehicle parked outside the Federal Judicial Complex and covered the remaining distance on foot. He said that Nawaz Sharif's corruption had never been exposed since he always made deals to secure himself.

"I do not need any protocol, I am a normal individual", he said.

Talking to media outside the court, Imran said that how terrorism cases can be filed against him as the 2014 protest was part of a political struggle.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said that whether names of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his children are placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) is a test case for Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Imran lashed out at Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stating that the younger Sharif had gotten scores of innocent people killed extra judicially at the hands of Punjab Police throughout the years.

Coming on Lodhran by-election, he said the ruling party had spent millions of rupees in the by-poll and defended the party defeat, as he said, the PTI candidate contested his first election but received 91,000 votes.

The protesters were also charged with attacking government properties including the Parliament House building.

A case had been filed against Khan, Qadri and others for torturing SSP Junejo and five other police officers.
