After first testing the feature in its beta apps, Microsoft today rolled out party chat to its public Android and iOS Xbox mobile apps.

The app will allow users to join Xbox Live Clubs, use the Looking for Group feature to form parties and play games, take their conversations on the go, see what their friends are doing on Xbox Live, share updates and game clips, watch and interact with game content, and even allows gamers to purchase games from the store. Players can then communicate via text or voice chat after joining the party.

The Xbox Party Chat app is available for both iOS and Android devices, so head on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the download, if you haven't checked it out already. This makes the feature more appealing to those who would otherwise stick with Discord. Of course, it's probably best to stick with the headset and console when you're actually playing, but it's a welcomed addition for those times you can't for whatever reason.

Nintendo has a similar voice chat system in place for the Switch, although it isn't ideal.
