- A bus stop in Astoria, Queens, was so packed with people Tuesday morning that a line of commuters wound around 31st Street. The problems started around 7 a.m., with signal issues at both Queens Plaza and 5th Avenue-59th Street. Extensive delays persisted into the afternoon on the N and W lines between Manhattan and Queens, with signal problems at multiple stations leaving riders stranded with few options to get to work, and certainly not on time.

The MTA says service has resumed along the N, Q, R and W lines with delays.

Southbound R trains are running along the F Subway line from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to Lexington Av-63 St then via Q Subway line to 57 St-7 Av.

Commuter Joshua Bruner captured video on his phone of a line of straphangers curved around Astoria Boulevard waiting to catch the bus instead.

"It is quite obvious to me performance is nowhere near good enough", he said.
