"I am happy to announce that Reliance will establish India's first-ever integrated industrial area for the fourth Industrial Revolution in the state of Maharashtra".

"Reliance along with other global companies will invest over Rs 60,000 crore in the next 10 years in Maharashtra, which will be the first integrated digital industrial area in the country", Ambani said at the opening day of the Magnetic Maharashtra investor summit here.

So far, the company has invested Rs 250,000 crore in India, of which the highest share - Rs 22,000 crore - came to Maharashtra, and within two years, Jio will connect every village panchayat, every school, college and hospital in the state to bring the benefits of digital revolution to the last person in society, he said.

"The company will make Maharashtra the birthplace and cradle of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in India, which is a convergence of disruptive technologies in the physical, digital and biological spheres".

"When we contacted globally reputed technology companies to participate in this initiative, we received an instant and enthusiastic response", Ambani said, according to Reuters.

He said India couldn't be left behind in the global race to harness artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, Internet of Things, next-generation virtual and augmented reality, life sciences, new materials and new sources of energy and other technologies of the future.

"This will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs and we plan to spend INR 1,700 cr on this venture", he told the summit that was inaugurated by PM Modi. He had said, "Now the focus is also on Industry 4.0 sectors such as AI, innovations, startups and big data analytics".

He also said the company will invest another INR 500 cr in the state for which his group has "executed an agreement with Maharashtra Government for the new electric vehicle policy".

Reportedly, Ambani has been trying to collaborate with the WEF to institute a centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution since the Davos meet earlier this year.
