Lynn, who became the costliest Australian to be sold at the Indian Premier League auction following Kolkata Knight Riders' Rs 9.6 crore bid to retain his services, was tipped to lead the franchise as the former champions are yet to announce their skipper.

Cricket Australia Sports Science Sports Medicine Manager, Alex Kountouris provided the following update on Chris Lynn today. Lynn will play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), just like he did past year. This year, too, he seems to be in good nick - he scored 148 runs for Brisbane Heats in just five matches at a strike rate of 162.63. Lynn, who pulled out of Pakistan Super League due to injury, took the opinions of the specialists in Brisbane, and is expected to start rehabilitation process of his shoulder after the joint settles down.

Lynn requires a non-surgical treatment on his dislocated shoulder and might be fit to take part in the IPL. Owing to the injury, Lynn is missing the ongoing Pakistan Super League, and is in doubts over his participation in the Indian Premier League.

Australia's explosive Twenty20 batsman Chris Lynn does not need shoulder surgery, reports said Friday, boosting his chance of taking up a lucrative Indian Premier League contract. "We will have a better understanding of how possible this will be in a few weeks, once we know how he is responding to the rehabilitation", the release said.
