Gilas Pilipinas looks to bounce back from their loss against the Australia Boomers as they host Japan on Sunday, February 25 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rosario, meanwhile, stayed in Manila as he had yet to secure clearance from doctors figuring in a bad fall while playing for TNT KaTropa in a PBA Philippine Cup game several weeks earlier.

With the return of the troika, Kevin Alas, Carl Cruz, and Abu Tratter were the cuts for this game.

The other members of the team are Kiefer Ravena, Matthew Wright, Roger Pogoy, Allein Maliksi, Gabe Norwood, Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, June Mar Fajardo and Andray Blatche. He was the only Gilas player in double digits.

Blatche is averaging 9.0 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in the Group B qualifiers, shooting 9-of-31 (29%) from the field.

Gilas beat the Japanese, 77-71, in the first window at their own turf and another win would put the national squad in a comfortable place heading into the 3rd window.

Hiejima had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists while Tanaka and Brown scored 10 points each against Gilas.

Japan was coming off a heartbreaking 70-69 home loss to Taiwan last Thursday.

Australia leads Group B with six points, followed by the Philippines with five points, Chinese Taipei with four points and Japan with three points.
