WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers develop, with a high of 62 degrees.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon.

Hilltops to the south and areas to the north and east of Utica will hold on to the cold air a bit longer into the afternoon, which means freezing rain/drizzle is possible.

Conditions improve Sunday - sunny skies and a high around 35.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 4. There will be a bit of a west wind though, sustained at 5 to 15 miles per hour, which will bring wind chill temperatures down into the teens.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 37. There is a slight chance for showers, but most of the day will be dry. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. That stubborn, slow moving front will finally push off the coast late Sunday and early Monday, allowing for High pressure to move into the area. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Expect high temperatures to remain in the mid 50s, over 10 degrees above average for late February. The National Weather Service notes, "Sunshine will give way to increasing afternoon clouds in a progressive pattern, with just low risk for showers moving into south-west New England by evening". Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13.

Sunday will be cloudy and cooler with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Temperatures will surge through the 40s on Sunday, with highs reaching into the upper 40s Wouldn't be surprised to see a few locations reach 50. Areas closer to the coast are more likely to see regular rain showers.
