Google's iOS app Google Assistant officially added native iPad support today, bringing the tablet's number of major Siri competitors up to three.

So, what's changed in the jump from iPhone to iPad?

Google also points out that with multitasking in iOS 11, you can take advantage of that larger screen size in other ways. You do get to view more content from the results in most cases, but generally speaking, the interface is just like a really big phone.

With the Assistant on your iPad, Google says you can do things like control your lights, cast things to your TV, place video calls, text your friends, and set reminders. Google Assistant for iPad is launching today, and it's available in a handful of different languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish.

That being said, many folks who have used both the Assistant and Apple's Siri recommend the former over the latter by a long shot. Microsoft released an iPad-optimized version of Cortana last month, after Amazon's Alexa ranked third overall in iPad App Store downloads during the 2017 holiday season.
