Russell Westbrook recorded his 20th triple-double of the season with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists on the night as OKC leapfrogged the New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota TImberwolves into fourth place.

On a Monday night when the Thunder couldn't do much right, there was reason to be optimistic about a shot outside the arc in Oklahoma City's 106-101 win against the Kings.

Following the Atlanta match up, the Thunder take on the LA Clippers, who are battling for a playoff spot in the West, and the top two teams in the East in the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics.

Steven Adams is getting banged from pillar to post as the Oklahoma City Thunder look to secure their spot in the National Basketball Association playoffs.

Thunder center Steven Adams left the game in the third quarter with a left hip contusion and did not return.

By the end of the third quarter a once eight-point OKC lead had turned into a one-point deficit.

The Kings were led by 19 points from Bogdan Bogdanovic and 15 apiece by Justin Jackson and Garrett Temple.

The Thunder led 88-85 in the fourth quarter when Westbrook checked back in after a brief rest.

Russell Westbrook got the help he needed from co-stars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. He got his 10th assist on a pass to Jerami Grant for a layup and his 10th rebound with just over 3 minutes to play.

Thunder: G Terrance Ferguson returned after missing Saturday's game against San Antonio while in concussion protocol. Anthony made three 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the game. They entered the game a combined 41 of 151 (27.1 percent) from long distance since the All-Star break.
