"I f-- up", he added.

The 31-year-old actor claims to have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which stems from hearing his mother being sexually assaulted when he was younger, and he believes that witnessing the violence against his mom triggered a lot of his own erratic behaviour.

The #TAKEMEANYWHERE director hit a new low on July 8 when he repeatedly called Chatham County police officers 'b****' and 'w****' during his sixth arrest (for obstruction, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness) in Savannah. He's now sober, and ready to talk about his hiatus exclusively with Esquire, where he told the magazine that he did two months of practice interviews with his therapist as preparation. "I need to take ownership of my s-t and clean up my side of the street a bit before I can go out there and work again, so I'm trying to stay creative and learn from my mistakes", he said.

"I've always thought somebody was coming in", he continued.

LaBeouf apologized a few days after his arrest saying he was "deeply ashamed" of his behavior.

LaBeouf says his offscreen conduct made him a liability in Hollywood, and that it has become hard for him to book new roles, despite being hailed as the "Best Actor for the Buck" in the late aughts.

"What went on in Georgia was mortifying", LaBeouf recalled. "They're not strategic. They're a struggling motherf-ker showing his a- in front of the world". "The truth is, in my desperation, I lost the plot".

"Around the same time, I took my mother to his concert", LaBeouf told the publication. "He goes to the money and pushes to try to get me in the movie, the money says no, and that's the end of me hanging out with Spike Lee for this film". And it just felt fair. "He took all my f-king clothes", LaBeouf said. So I'm like, "Go for it, my guy".

Elsewhere in the chat he also spoke about that time Kanye West stole all his clothes. Take everything you want.' And he did.

The saga began with West's song, "No More Parties in L.A.", during which he raps the line: "I wish I dressed as fresh as Shia LaBeouf". I was talking to him about it. "He's going through a lot".
