Stakeholders Applaud NFF, Rohr On W'Cup Friendlies

The coach, hoping for Obi to attain full fitness ahead of pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia later this month, believes the 26-year-old would give him more option in midfield, with players in that department enduring contrasting fate in their various clubs.

The stakeholders, who spoke to DAILY INDEPENDENT separately, were unanimous in their belief that Coach Gernot Rohr and the NFF at ensuring a Super Eagles successful campaign at the summer World Cup coming up in Russian Federation.

Speaking to our correspondent, Adegboye Onigbinde, former Federation Internationale de Football Association and CAF instructor, who once handled the Super Eagles, said that the coach had shown that he was in charge of the team, and also commended the NFF for their support to Rohr, asking Nigerians not to unnecessarily criticise the coach.

"We have played 4-3-3, 5-3-2 already".

Speaking in the same vein, Henry Nwosu (MON), former captain of the team said: "The list is a nice one".

And the ex-Parma man has been rewarded for his consistency, with Rohr handing him his first national team invite - after nearly four years out - ahead of tune-up clashes with Poland and Serbia on March 23 and 27 respectively.

"I'm confident in the defense and the whole team, that if we play as a unit we can stop, not just Lewandowski, but any other striker in the world", Rohr said on Brilla FM.
