Listed in the scripts as "Mystery Girl", fans have been theorizing on the identity of the character and executive producer Todd Helbing commented on the speculation following a press screening for this week's episode of The Flash. Since then, the young woman, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy, has appeared in several episodes of The Flash, albeit extremely briefly.

In the four-way crossover Crisis on Earth-X, Barry Allen met a young woman shortly before his wedding who was awestruck to meet him and reminded him to stay focused. The character shared an unusual amount of enthusiasm when meeting the couple but never gave her name.

"Every year, there are theories all over the place about what we're doing", Helbing said as quoted by TV Line. We hope so, but it does seem as though some of the theories out there about her (with the prevailing one being Dawn Allen) may not be altogether true. Helbing doubts that "anybody ever is going to guess exactly what it is".

The mystery waitress's identity in The Flash is still a mystery for the fans.

Sometimes you get used to having super powers, let's say, just to pick one at random, super-speed like the Flash. Fans have also wondered if she could be the new female speedster that's been training with Jay Garrick to be the new Flash of Earth-3. Thus far, the running theory is that she's Barry and Iris' future daughter Dawn, or granddaughter Jenni Ognats. A version of her costume will be worn by Iris when she gains Barry's speed in this week's episode. It's the 16th episode of season 4 and will bring viewers into a multi-week break from the Scarlet Speedster and the rest of Team Flash. Are viewers in for another appearance from the Mystery Girl?

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West and Jesse L. Martin as Joe West.
