However, Delhi police have earlier submitted a report in Delhi court saying Mr Jain has admitted that AAP MLAs surrounded the chief secretary and saw them assaulting him at Chief Minister's residence on the evening of Februar19, 201818.

The traders' body has also appealed the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in the state to "bring a bill which could stop sealing" on March 16, when the Delhi Assembly would reconvene. "Due to the neglect of Congress Governments and DDA, Delhi has witnessed an unplanned development and expansion which in 2006 resulted in the intervention of the Supreme Court followed by sealing drive".

"Jain has resigned from the post of advisor to the Delhi chief minister citing personal reasons and family commitment", sources said to media.

"If the Kejriwal government is committed to find a solution of sealing issue, it should immediately hold a special session of Delhi Vidhan Sabha on March 15 and pass a resolution seeking moratorium (on sealing of) all commercial constructions and unauthorized colonies existing as on 31st December, 2017 and forward it to the centre government", Tiwari said in a statement. More than half a dozen policemen were deployed additionally apart from the regular security deployment outside the CM's residence for the meeting.

"Stop the drama of allegations and counter-allegations on the issue of sealing in Delhi".

On the issue of 351 roads, which have been pending notification as commercial or mixed-land use for over 10 years, Mr. Sisodia said the government would go to the Supreme Court next week to seek permission for the notification. "Ajay Maken (Delhi Congress chief) has given some good suggestions for reforms, we will implement them", Sisodia said. The meeting lasted nearly for an hour and was fruitful, Maken said.

"BJP wants to make way for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) through the sealing drive", Sisodia said and added that the drive is being done with the support of BJP.

"We have given a representation to the CM, and will send this to the BJP also, in which we have divided the city into six parts".

Maken attacked the BJP for boycotting the talks, stressing that parties needed to "collectively find a solution" to the traders' problems. "Because it is not being done now, there is chaos", Maken said.
