Case Keenum heading to Denver

A number of media suggest free-agent quarterback Case Keenum intends to sign with the Denver Broncos when free agency officially begins at 2 p.m. MT on Wednesday.

Keenum had a breakout season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2017.

In his one full season as a starter, Bridgewater completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 3,231 yards, 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions while leading the Vikings to an 11-5 record and a division title. Of the teams thought to be shopping for a starting quarterback in free agency, all but one appeared to have a deal in place for Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Keenum is considered the second-best QB available on the open market.

With the Broncos, Vikings, Cardinals and Jets apparently no longer looking for a No. 1 quarterback, the Buffalo Bills appeared to be the only team in the market for a starter. John Elway, the Broncos' front office football czar, has settled on Keenum as his latest attempt to fix the quarterback situation.

Manning retired a month after Denver's 24-10 win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50, and Elway brought in veteran Mark Sanchez, then moved up to grab Lynch in the first round of the draft.

Bradford is also a free agent.

That included choosing among the draft prospects that include Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and others. We just have to figure out a way to get it right.

While Kirk Cousins' agent said, "No final decisions have been made", the Vikings had on the table a three-year, $84 million contract that was fully guaranteed, would make him the highest-paid quarterback in the National Football League and seemed too lucrative to turn down. "Obviously, we have to get better at that position". But that doesn't go all on the players, too.
