New York Giants among teams in the hunt for Nate Solder

He has yet to inform the Browns of his plans this offseason.

The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans are other teams that have been reported in the hunt for Solder. The Patriots made him the 17th pick of the 2011 draft.

New England would be forced to figure things out on the fly, with potential left tackle candidates LaAdrian Waddle and Cameron Fleming also slated to be free agents. They would love to keep Solder, who has been Tom Brady's blindside protector for a long time.

Solder, 6-foot-8, 314 pounds, hasn't been to a Pro Bowl (he was a Pro Bowl alternate for the 2017 season), but since he and Thomas both play in the AFC, he would have had to beat out Thomas to get that recognition.

Even after that flurry, the Browns still have the second-most cap space in the National Football League at $77.8 million, per Spotrac. The Browns, as Volin notes, have a ton of money and cap space.

As the top offensive tackle on the free agent market, Nate Solder will undoubtedly sign a lucrative contract within the next week.

Solder has been pursued by numerous teams, including the Patriots in attempt to re-sign him. After getting the OK from trainers he has been in the Browns facility nearly daily, working out as much as he can while going through injury rehab.

I don't think they're going to have Hubbard protecting their quarterback's blind side either.

New Browns general manager John Dorsey has been active in recent days overhauling the team's roster. The issue is that the Browns have the money, and have been making tremendous moves so far in the offseason. They have had a losing record in 10 straight seasons since then.
