As the entire National Football League became free to move anywhere it wanted, the Birds stayed close to home with their biggest move, signing linebacker Nigel Bradham to a monster $5 year, 40 million pact.

Linebacker Nigel Bradham is going to sign a five-year, $40 million deal with the Eagles according to a report by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. He also forced a fumble on a lateral play that was picked up by defensive end Brandon Graham and returned for a victory-sealing touchdown in the division-clinching win at L.A. Rams in Week 14. He continued to come up big in the postseason, where he had 15 total tackles and a sack in three games.

For a unit that already features Mychal Kendricks at weakside linebacker (or Corey Nelson if Kendricks is traded) and Jordan Hicks at middle linebacker, retaining Bradham makes this unit as deadly as ever for the Eagles.

In 2017, Bradham only allowed 0.62 yards per coverage snap and 13.6 coverage snaps per reception.

Bradham posted 88 tackles and one sack last season.

The defending Super Bowl champs made their headlines earlier this week, pairing trades for DE Michael Bennett (from the Seahawks) and CB Darryl Worley (from the Panthers) with the wiggling open of cap space - primarily from cutting Brent Celek ($4 million in savings) and restructuring Lane Johnson ($7.5 million).
