The Sheriff's Office says the threat was unsubstantiated, but the school was on lockdown about 90 minutes as the investigation progressed.

A Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department spokesperson says Righetti High School in the Santa Maria Valley is on lockdown after a threat was received at 9:30 am Wednesday.

The threat comes as students across the country hold walkouts to protest gun violence and call for gun control following a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. I'm sick of this sh*t. "Better not come. F-- this place", according to multiple reports.

District officials notified all families in the San Leandro Unified School District of the lockdown.

Police searched the property with dogs, but did not locate any weapons. We didn't want to take the chance and have this take place tomorrow.

Since the Florida shooting, students have been leading the charge to demand lawmakers pass new laws to prevent future school shootings.

There were rumors that a gun or guns were found on campus. The school district posted on its Facebook page that one of the boys was with the administration and the other boy was at home with dad. Students will be dismissed at their regularly scheduled time Wednesday.
