But at 2:30 a.m. today, the airline told Irgo that he had made it to Japan and sent her photos to prove it, she said.

A 10-year-old German shepherd Irgo was supposed to be on a flight from OR to Kansas City, but when owner Kara Swindle arrived in Missouri, United Airlines gave her a Great Dane instead.

Joseph and Kara Swindle, along with their two young children, were flying from OR to Kansas City Tuesday so they could sign the paperwork for their new house in Wichita, Kansas, the next morning. Irgo was scheduled to land in Kansas City just before Swindle, she said.

United says the error happened during the dogs' connection in Denver.

When they arrived at Kansas City Airport, the family went to the cargo facility to pick up their 10-year-old German Shepard, Irgo. We have notified our costumers that their pets have arrived safely and will arrange to return the pets to them as soon as possible.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, a family's beloved French Bulldog died Monday night on a United Flight to Houston from New York City, after a flight attendant demanded the owner put her dog carrier in the overhead bin. This time, they accidentally sent a family's German Shepherd to Japan instead of Kansas, according to KCTV-5. "I would love to know what they are thinking", she said of the other family.

Turns out, the Great Dane was actually supposed to go to Japan.

Swindle said she was also told that United Airlines will be flying Irgo to Wichita Eisenhower National Airport today. "I've cried too much".

It did not help United Airlines' case that this story broke in the same week that a small dog died in a plane's overhead bin, where it was placed at the request of a flight attendant.

Maggie Schmerin, the spokeswoman for United Airlines, said that they have been in contact with Ceballos and offered to pay for a necropsy. "We apologize for this mistake and are following up with the vendor kennel where they were kept overnight to understand what happened".
