Audi India head, Rahil Ansari, said the increase in custom duty and introduction of social welfare surcharge made the price hike inevitable and called for government support to make luxury vehicles more affordable. Audi sells a host of vehicles in India ranging from SUV Q3 with price starting at Rs 35.35 lakh to sports auto R8 which is tagged at Rs 2.63 crore.

German luxury vehicle manufacturer Audi has announced that the company will be increasing prices of its entire model range by up to 4 per cent. And the new prices, for the entire range of products, will be effective from April 1, 2018. "We have tried to absorb the impact of the increase in the customs duty and have minimised the price hike for our customers".

The recent increase in custom duty is the reason behind the price adjustment.

The reason behind the price hike of Audi vehicle is the result of increase in customs duty in the budget. To minimize the impact of the price increase, they are also offering various Audi Finance schemes along with sales and service benefits for their discerning customers who aspire to join the Audi Family. "There is no doubt that increase in auto sales would definitely help the Government in garnering more accumulated taxes", Mr. Ansari added.
