Michael Conlan won the sixth fight of his pro career on St. Patrick's Day at the Madison Square Garden Theater in NY.

The Hungarian featherweight was down in the first and second rounds after lefts to the body and head and was taken into protective custody inside four minutes by ref Eddie Claudio with Conlan punishing his opponent on the ropes.

Conlan dropped Berna with a body shot to the midsection as the first round came to an end.

Next up should be a homecoming in Belfast this June.

With the party moving towards full swing around him, Conlan said afterwards: "It meant a lot to me". I think I did. "We will sell out any stadium in Ireland". I've only been with my new coach a little while but I feel I've improved a ton.

The 26-year-old was happy with his display and says the TKO was an improvement on his debut win at the venue last year. Once I turned southpaw, I felt that shot would be a comfortable one for me to land. "He started committing and I hit him and dropped him with a handsome body shot in the first round". I've got the feel for professional boxing.

"I left my old trainer Manny Robles and it was nothing personal - it was just logistical for my family - and now I've linked up with Adam Booth and I feel I have a great connection with him".
