It was reported on Sunday that the Pittsburgh Steelers had come to terms on a two-year contract with unrestricted free agent linebacker Jon Bostic and that all was left for him to do was to pass a physical and sign his contract. Bostic broke his foot in training camp in 2016 during a joint practice with (of all teams) the Steelers and he was placed on injured reserve, ending his season before it started.

Jon Bostic #57 celebrates with Rashaan Melvin #30 of the Indianapolis Colts after a third down stop against the Arizona Cardinals during the first half at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 17, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bostic, a 2013 second-round pick of the Chicago Bears out of the University of Florida, has 240 career tackles.

Bostic could be part of the answer at linebacker for the Steelers, who will be without Ryan Shazier in 2018 as he recovers from a career-threatening spinal injury.

"I just got rolled up on", said Bostic.

"I think all that stuff is behind me", Bostic said.

Bostic, who said he has played in both a 3-4 and 4-3 defense and can play the weak or strong side as well as cover, has experience calling the defensive signals and would feel comfortable if he was asked to do that again.

"At the end of the day it was the best choice for me, the best choice for my family", said Bostic.

"I would never say replace". I like everything from the top down...the ownership, coaches, players that are here, the city.

"I was a three-down player there", he said about last season in Indianapolis.

Bostic is the son of an National Football League player.
