Harry Maguire Targeted, Chris Smalling Rumours

Manchester United are considering making a summer transfer bid to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, according to reports in the British media.

The article claims that Mourinho has been very impressed by Maguire's top form this season since his move to the King Power Stadium from Hull City last summer. United have more clean sheets this season than any other club in the league with 16, but much of that has been down to their outstanding goalkeeper David de Gea.

Maguire has starred in the heart of Leicester's defence this season while also usurping Chris Smalling in the England set-up.

Maguire has taken Smalling's spot in Gareth Southgate's England team in recent months, and the Three Lions have yet to concede a goal in the four worldwide matches in which he has played. He could be about to take Smalling's domestic place too.

It seems nearly certain United will look to once again invest in their back line this summer, and Maguire could be one homegrown option to replace Smalling, whose chances at Old Trafford appear to be running out.
