After being crowned champions of Premier League for the third time in seven seasons, Manchester City have set their sights on adding new volumes to record books.

"Manchester City, we won it for you" chanted West Brom fans at full-time as United supporters began jeering in frustration at their side gift-wrapping the title for City.

"Manchester City is not like [Manchester] United or Chelsea - the big clubs in England have trophies and a lot of history behind them". How about that taxi driver who isn't EVEN LOOKING at where he's going despite the fact that there are literally THOUSANDS of people in that street.

Defeat for Spurs handed Chelsea a glimmer of hope in the fight for Champions League places after it came from 2-0 down to beat Southampton 3-2, but Liverpool strengthened its position in the top four as Mohamed Salah scored his 40th goal of the season in a routine 3-0 win over Bournemouth. But tonight, we win it again.

By Christmas, City were already putting together 18 consecutive victories - only one short of Bayern Munich's major league record, also set under Guardiola.

"It would be one of the best three seasons I have ever had as a player and as a manager".

But City, who will stage a title party when they host Swansea on Sunday, have a chance to underline their credentials over their last five matches. "City were the best team, sooner or later they would get the points, so no dramas when the best team wins the league", Mourinho said.

There's also the way that their football has been so good, and of such a high and genuinely unique level, that it feels like they should achieve something historic - like a points record - to properly symbolise that; to give it the special resonance it deserves.

"We are able to win two games".

"Pep's beliefs determine how his team play, the way I wanted my teams to play, so put me down as one of his admirers".

"You can not imagine", Guardiola said on Saturday.

'Especially if you've been a Blue for more than forty years.

'We needed a period of adaptation...his methods were the right ones, we believed in him.

How campaigns finish does often dictate how they're remembered, regardless of how good you've been before that. I was unfortunate enough to play against that quality United side that dominated in the '90s, but this side would have beaten them - that's how good they are.
