This makes it one of the few Android makers to have its latest flagships running up-to-date software.

In addition to the new gestures, OxygenOS 5.1.0 also upgrades both the 5T and 5 to Android 8.1 Oreo, adds the latest April 2018 security patch, category tags in your app drawer/search, and folders are automatically assigned names based on what's in them. Of all the changes listed by OnePlus, only one is exclusive to the OnePlus 5T.

The gestures can be enabled from the settings menu and once that's done, the navigation buttons that Android users are hidden for gestures.

The update, as you would expect, is rolling out in stages. If you want to get it right away you can use the old VPN trick: change the server location to Canada and check for updates after. If you don't see the update arrive on your OnePlus 5T or OnePlus 5 today, keep an eye out, as it should arrive soon.
