Stage 3 has started in similar fashion with Dallas Fuel now holding a 1-3 record while their coach KyKy and their Korena DPS star, Rascal, have publicly taken shots at each other over communication issues and substitute decisions.

The Dallas Fuel released DPS player Kim "Rascal" Dong-jun and head coach Kyle "KyKy" Souder following an 0-2 Stage 3 Week 2 performance, the team announced late Sunday night. A statement from Dallas says that while Souder "coached our team through a great run and a Contenders championship", "we have not replicated that championship level of success in the Overwatch League this season", and reference a need for change to help the team move forward.

Owned by Team Envy, Dallas Fuel came into the inaugural season of the Overwatch with high hopes that their organization's pedigree from 2016 and 2017 would shine through. The team's fan-favorite roster was expected to perform well-we ranked it third in our preseason power rankings-but has underperformed throughout the first season in the wake of controversies like Félix "xQc" Lengyel's suspension and dismissal, as well as xQc's replacement Minseok "OGE" Son being suspended as well.

The Fuel said that negotiations are ongoing with numerous candidates to fill the head coach position, and the team expects to announce a new head coach within the next week. Rascal played for the team in both stages two and three.

Dallas Fuel assistant coach Emanuel "Peak" Uzoni was named Interim Head Coach, effective immediately.

Michael "Hastr0" Rufail, owner of the Dallas Fuel and Team EnVyUs, thanked KyKy for his commitment to the team. "Unfortunately, his commitment to the team did not meet our expectations and his unwillingness to communicate with the team while playing in recent matches became a large distraction", Rufail said.

The team have also secured the services of Meta Gaming's Kang "Vol'Jin" Min-Gyu, who will join the team as an assistant coach following the approval of his Visa.
