Defensive lineman Aaron Donald has skipped the start of the Los Angeles Rams' voluntary offseason workouts.

Coach Sean McVay says Donald's current absence particularly doesn't concern him compared to previous year.

Rams head coach Sean McVay did not express concern when addressing reporters on Monday, noting that the two sides are making progress toward a deal and adding that Donald's participation isn't a top priority at the moment. "We totally understand some of the other things that are going on with regards to wanting to get that deal, and with respect to Aaron, we feel really good about that dialogue". "When this happened previous year, we weren't involved really much in communication between myself and Aaron".

Last season, Donald was absent from most of the Rams' offseason program, all of training camp and the preseason while seeking a new contract. You know he's a guy that's going to work hard on his off time, and that's kind of where we're at.

Rams general manager Les Snead told the Times the team and Donald have a "timeline" for working out an extension. "We feel good about everything that's going on with that".

Everything pointed toward Donald being a no-show this week, considering his contract situation and the fact that he held out last offseason, as well.
