Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Edmond police officers were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked and running for more than an hour. No video of the initial incident in which Finch was alleged to have thrown a punch at an officer was made public.

When they arrived, officers allegedly found Finch in the vehicle smelling of marijuana. Finch allegedly swung at officers and ran through an apartment complex before officers finally wrestled Finch to the ground and handcuffed him.

Officers set up a perimeter and located Finch walking in a breezeway at the Stonebridge apartments.

When officers tried to stop him, another fight began.

"Drive stuns were applied and we were able to place Finch into custody", the police report says.

Police say that after another altercation ensued, officers deployed a taser, hitting Finch between the shoulder blades.

A mugshot published by the Oklahoman showed Finch with bad bruises along the right side of his face.

Finch was arrested on complaints of assault and battery of an officer, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

According to the report, Finch is now being held in an Oklahoma county jail.

Finch, who has a home in Oklahoma City, was a running back for the University of Oklahoma from 2010 to 2013. After college he spent time on the practice squad with the New England Patriots, who picked him up as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Finch was a running back at OU from 2010-2013 and is a return specialist for the CFL's Calgary Stampeders.
