In fact, that's what the folks at Paramount Pictures are thinking, as they're pushing ahead with a remake of it and today, they've found their leading man. Stephen King's works have always been popular to adapt in Hollywood, but thanks to the success of IT recently, his name is red hot and studios are looking to (hopefully) cash in with some modern takes on his classic stories.

Widmyer and Kolsch previously delivered the absolutely fantastic Starry Eyes (seek that out immediately if you've not seen it), and we can't wait to see what they do with this particular property. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing the remake with Jeff Buhler and David Kajganich writing the script, and Alexandra Loewy executive producing. It opens on April 19th, 2019.

The original "Pet Sematary", directed by Mary Lambert from a script by King, followed the unraveling of a family after moving into a new home in ME next to a pet cemetery where buried creatures came back from the dead. "Pet Sematary Two", starring Anthony Edwards, earned $17 million in 1992. Clarke can now be seen as Ted Kennedy in Chappaquiddick, a role that has earned him some praise.
