Josh Harrison has broken hand, expected to miss 6 weeks

Second baseman Josh Harrison had to leave yesterday's Pirates-Marlins game in Miami after he was hit on the left hand by a 96-mph fastball from Jose Urena. The "further evaluation" we so often mention has taken place and it's not good: he has a fracture to the fifth metacarpal of his left hand.

Harrison was hit by a pitch Sunday and this is not the news Pirates fans were hoping for.

Harrison missed the final month of the 2017 season after being hit by a pitch on the same hand.

Harrison is batting.263 with one homer and five RBIs. He was hit 23 times a year ago to rank second in the majors.
