Kyle Walker: 'Toughest period at Manchester City'

City have been miles ahead of any side this season and claim the title with five games to spare.

"So to come here and win in my first season, it's fantastic for me".

"You always say is the grass greener on the other side, and it looks it".

They also equalled the record for the least amount of games taken to win the league, having played just 33 games before clinching the title. It needs to be a number of years before we can be regarded as one of the top teams ever to have played in the Premier League.

Kyle Walker wants Manchester City to aim for more titles in the coming years.

"We have the youth in the squad and the hunger to go on and do big things".

They eventually got the job done this weekend, though, as a scintillating 3-1 win at Tottenham on Saturday put the champagne on ice and the corks were popped less than 24 hours later when Manchester United surprisingly lost at home to West Brom on Sunday.

Manchester United avoided the embarrassment of seeing their rivals secure the title at their expense last week when they came back from 2-0 down to beat Pep Guardiola's side at the Etihad Stadium, but went on to undo their work when they collapsed at home to West Bromwich Albion and officially end the title race. "We've had probably the toughest period, definitely in my career at the club. We've gone from doing so well in all competitions to take three losses, and sometimes it felt like it was a relegation battle in there with the mood", Walker told reporters.

"We're all winners and we want to win and in them games, unfortunately, we didn't". That shows the character and the belief in the standard of players in the dressing room.

"For them to do that when it was a season when they were getting a lot of ifs and buts about Wembley would be very good for them".
