Manufacturer from China ASUS announced the intention to release a new model gaming smartphone under its brand.

The new Asus AREZ cards will go on sale in May 2018 and, just in case you thought there might be some other reference on Asus' mind, the AREZ range is derived from the Greek god of war, Ares.

Why is ASUS Doing This?

AREZ graphics cards also support the latest AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition drivers for comprehensive control over AMD GPUs. That means that ASUS for example, can not sell Radeon graphics cards under their Republic of Gamers brand if they want to get NVIDIA GPUs in the future.

AREZ graphics cards are produced using Auto-Extreme technology, an industry-exclusive, 100%-automated production process that incorporates premium materials to set a new standard of quality, performance and longevity. Select AREZ graphics cards are also constructed with up to 40% more heatsink surface area than previous dual-slot designs, further improving heat dissipation for dramatically cooler and quieter performance. These fans also operate in a hybrid passive mode, so they stop completely when the load or GPU temperature is low enough. This utility lets users overclock their Radeon cards easily while monitoring their GPU. Core features include power-saving Radeon Chill technology; Radeon WattMan for profile-based custom control of voltages, engine clocks and fan speeds1; and Radeon ReLive for easy capture and sharing of in-game action. Pricing information will be available closer to launch as well.
