Pogba, 25, struggled to make an impact in the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich at Old Trafford on Sunday, which awarded rivals Manchester City the Premier League title. Anthony Martial, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind are also set to be offloaded.

"I spoke with them about it", Mourinho said during his news conference, with United 13 points adrift of City, who could regain their 16-point lead against Swansea City on Sunday. This is a huge risk though. There was little in Pogba's performance to cause agitation either way but his influence certainly grew as the second half took hold. De Bruyne, Salah, anyone?

Carrick, in his final season as a player before he joins United's coaching staff, had a private chat with Pogba, where he used the opportunity to urge Pogba to resolve his differences with Mourinho, according to the Daily Mail. It would take his stay at the Etihad Stadium to 2020, matching the four-year stint he had with Barcelona.

Seems to enjoy playing Bournemouth, as he scored four in one game against them for Everton last season.

The former Juventus star responded well, though, producing a man of the match display in the 2-0 win over Bournemouth, during which he created Romelu Lukaku's goal.

Both sides now sit in second place in their respective conferences, while Atlanta boasts the second-highest goalscoring total in the league to this point, with 15 goals in six games. When we have that resolved we can think about third and second place.

"I think he's wanted to come out and create the Paul Pogba show, which is good, which is what you need". If I was in that position, I would be very upset if they say they won the title because Manchester United lost to West Brom.

Tonight, in the 2-0 win at Bournemouth, he was again elite. When you join United, you are under so much scrutiny, and if you underperform there are always people likely to criticise you - it's just part and parcel of the game.

The centre-forward's inclusion in the side played in the hands of the Red Devils in a flawless manner, as he scored off a through-ball from Paul Pogba just 8 minutes after coming on. But this was a very similar level.

Ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup semi-final with Tottenham, the United boss believes his team has improved this year, but not enough. I knew, sooner or later, that would be the case.
