Adrien Broner is in a must-win situation when he makes his 2018 debut on Saturday night, as he faces Jessie Vargas in a non-title affair at a catchweight of 144 pounds from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Vargas, whose only career defeats have come against Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley respectively, weighed in slightly lighter than Broner at 10st 3lbs 4oz.

Broner delivered an angry rant at the final press conference and claimed everyone was against him before promising to beat Vargas on the way to becoming a five-division world champion.

A loss from either Broner or Vargas and they will fall to gatekeeper status.

Also on the main card, undefeated Jermall Charlo takes on Hugo Centeno, Jr. for the interim WBC 160-pound world title and Gervonta Davis and Jesus Cuellar square off for the vacant WBA 130-pound belt. This fight is set up for Broner to look spectacular, as Vargas will stay in the pocket and eat shots.

This is a can't-miss card with the controversial Broner in the marquee and two fighters who are on the rise in Charlo and Davis.

Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) takes on Jessie Vargas as he aims to get back on the winning track. Broner's last outing in the ring was last July inside the same Barclays Center, and that resulted in a unanimous decision loss to Mikey Garcia. We will providing live updates throughout the day so stay locked in to our live coverage as we approach Broner vs. Vargas.
