After a five-year spell in the English Championship and Premier League with Hull City, as well as a one-year stint in Turkey with Besiktas, McGregor has came back to the club he made his name at as a youngster, and signed a tw0-year contract with the Gers.

McGregor becomes Steven Gerrard's second signing since taking over as Rangers boss, following the capture of midfielder Scott Arfield from Burnley earlier this week.

Rangers brought Allan McGregor back to Ibrox this afternoon. He has won lots of silverware for this club, and has shone at the highest level in Europe.

McGregor will now battle with Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick to become the number 1 between the sticks for the Scottish giants.

McGregor, who has 38 global caps, moved to Hull after a year in the Turkish top flight.

"I can't keep the smile off my face", McGregor told Rangers TV.

The 36-year old played a key role in the The Tigers squad in the 2017/18 season, featured in all 46 league games for Nigel Adkin's side.

"I started training here when I was 12 years old and used to come through the main stand maybe twice a week", said McGregor.

The 35-cap Scotland worldwide won three league titles, a hat-trick of Scottish Cups and five League Cup titles during his first Rangers stint.

"If you keep doing that, as we've seen before, that's what wins you titles".
