Walmart to debut more than 125 brands with Lord & Taylor online flagship

The company's Premium Brands section will include offerings from more than 125 Lord & Taylor brands, including Tommy Bahama, Vince Camuto, Miss Selfridge, and Lucky Brand. Visit MarketWatch.com for more information on this news.

"As part of the Walmart.com redesign, and our commitment to establish Walmart.com as a destination for fashion, we recently relaunched our new fashion shopping experience", Denise Incandela, Head of Fashion at Walmart U.S. e-commerce, said in a statement. This includes clothing for men, women and kids, as well as accessories and other options.

"This innovative flagship on Walmart.com is an entirely new model for us and demonstrates the evolution of Lord & Taylor and our commitment to advancing our digital presence", said RJ Cilley, senior vice president of digital, Lord & Taylor.

The deal does offer special advantages for Walmart, which is generally considered a downmarket retail brand, both online and at its almost 12,000 stores worldwide.

Consumers will soon see two different categories on the fashion section of Walmart's website: Premium Brands and Walmart's Everyday Brands. To distinguish the new flagship site, a Premium Brands from Lord & Taylor header will run across each premium brand page. Or maybe it's Walmart.com that's offering shoppers a reason rethink Lord & Taylor. Customers can shop fashion on Walmart.com by visiting Walmart.com/fashion.

Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) is planning to start selling upscale products from Lord & Taylor via its online store.
