According to a press release, the new development would create more than 1,500 full-time jobs in the Old Pueblo. The new fulfillment center would be an 855,000-square-foot sorting facility at 1550 W. Main West Jefferson.

"We are excited to open a new, state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in West Jefferson, and to continue innovating in OH - a state committed to providing great opportunities for jobs and customer experience", said Mark Stewart, Amazon's Vice President of North America Customer Fulfillment.

Amazon said that it will open a new fulfillment center in West Jefferson, its sixth in the U.S. state of OH, which will create more than 1,500 full-time jobs by the end of 2019.

"We're proud of the business climate we have in West Jefferson, which is very attractive to industry leaders like Amazon".

The company plans to have the angled intersection redone to accompany the grounds, changing the current layout to a 90-degree angle.

Amazon has created more than 6,000 full-time jobs in OH and invested over $2 billion in the state since 2011, both in customer fulfillment infrastructure and compensation to its employees in the state.

"Amazon is quickly becoming one of the Columbus Region's largest and most important employers", said Kenny McDonald, president and CEO, Columbus 2020.

Amazon's statement says employees at the new location "will, pack, and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics, household items and toys".
