Arsenal chiefs have held talks with Nice over a potential move for Jean-Michael Seri, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners are interested in a potential deal to sign the Ivory Coast worldwide at the end of the 2017-18 season.

London rivals Chelsea are also interested in the midfielder, who is rated at around £40million and almost signed for Barcelona last summer, and are monitoring developments. Reports suggest that the former Barcelona man still enjoys a good working relationship with Seri's camp.

There stays an uncertainty over the managerial positions at each Chelsea and Arsenal which might play a component in any negotiations. The last piece of information has been reported by the Daily Mirror in their latest report.

According to claims from the Mirror, the Blues are leading the race to sign the midfielder, who is a strong target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. Seri though, moved on from last summer's disappointment quite well with 2 goals and 10 assists in 42 outings across all competitions this season, although the going was slightly tough for the Ligue 1 outfit as they finished 6th on the table. Antonio Conte is expected to leave following the FA Cup final with Manchester United, and the likes of Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino have been linked with the job. Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri also appears to be in the running for the job at the North London club.
