Deadpool barges in on Stephen Colbert's monologue

If your preference in a production based on a comic book character is to load up the landscape with other colorfully clad characters, "Deadpool 2" has you covered. Reynolds is the embodiment of the Deadpool character, he has once again carried his fine form and made the movie as epic as it is. "Being tall, being handsome, being presentably lovely, I was surprised during our sex scene how small your penis was - and how big your balls were, which makes sense in how you create a tone in Deadpoolthat's as edgy as it is". We worked on the first script together for years before it even got close to being greenlit and while shooting the first film, we were already coming up with a story for the second one.

"Please, guys, no one stand up". The subsequent grief and mourning leads Deadpool to a situation involving an oversized teenage mutant Russel Collins (Firefist), played by New Zealand actor Julian Dennison. Cable - a fierce, leathery slab of man granite with a bionic arm and a Nike-shaped scar under one eye - has come from the future to set perceived wrongs right. "I don't know why you would put your kid in show business", he said. The twists and turns and all the storytelling shenanigans are merely fuel for the gags, but a pretty high-octane fuel at that.

Why we care: The entire schtick of Deadpool is his nearly painfully in-your-face irreverence, mostly through annihilating the fourth wall.

The superhero's best advice for Colbert? But necessity is the mother of invention so the less we have, the more creative we have to get.

However, one needn't worry about that yet. At their heart, these films are a showcase for Ryan Reynolds to geek out and nearly satirise his own career decisions. Besides, Shatterstar, Zeitgeist, Bedlam, Vanisher, and Domino make an appearance.

"Because you're all mostly white men?" Also, watch out for the blink-and-you'll-miss cameo by Brad Pitt.

Sometimes it takes a hero to beat a hero, and Deadpool just might have what it takes to take down the Avengers at the box office. They're also infused with plenty of laugh-out-loud humour.

And, with the imminent arrival of Deadpool 2 just a few days away, the superhero - or, y'know, Ryan Reynolds - has certainly been doing the rounds to promote the new film.

Reynolds' latest opponent? Josh Brolin, his fellow Deadpool 2 star. In that, it's about family, like the Fast and the Furious franchise, or Kyun Ke Saas Bhi... okay, never mind. "You sure you're not from the DC universe?"

All in all, "Deadpool 2" delivers exactly what you would expect- comedy, action, and an overall good time. But even so, there are still some solid one-liners in here.

Instead he goes with: "You're so bad in The Goonies that people don't drink; they just punch themselves in the dick for five straight minutes".
