Superman himself, Henry Cavill, admits such a choice maybe wasn't the smartest to make.

"Well, that whole concept was faintly ridiculous and I honestly believe everyone viewed it as such", Cavill said. When it came to that, it was one of those things where I'm in the middle of another movie, and to change my look for a movie that should have finished already becomes a real problem. "I think it's important to have some mystery in movies these days". Alas, while Superman did return to life during Justice League and helped Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg defeat Steppenwolf, it was obvious to many which of the Man of Steel's scenes were filmed during the reshoots and which were from the original shoot.

Since, due to his professional commitments, Cavill was unable to shave off his facial hair, Warner Bros., the makers of "Justice League", had to digitally remove his mustache from the reshot scenes.

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about Mission: Impossible - Fallout: Tom Cruise hanging off a helicopter; the return of director Christopher McQuarrie; and the arrival of Henry Cavill as Central Intelligence Agency agent August Walker.

And now that Cavill has shaved off the mustache, he "absolutely" misses it.

"I was slightly surprised", Cavill says about mustache response.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, the actor explained: "When we made a decision to go for the moustache, I certainly wasn't expecting all the events to unfold as they were going to unfold". I wasn't expecting "Justice League" reshoots to be as extensive as they were. "You can't win every time".

Cavill also commented on the reception that Justice League received from audiences, saying: "I think all these things have their place and their time". There are many reasons why the audience have responded in the way they responded.

Cavill next stars in "Mission: Impossible - Fallout", in theaters nationwide July 27.
