During Thursday's White House Press Briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that if there is truth to reporting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has a spy in the Trump campaign, "it should certainly be looked into".

A reporter at the briefing asked Sanders if the president believes the Federal Bureau of Investigation had a spy in his campaign.

A reporter started her question by saying, "I know we've asked this a few times, but ..." "We'll move forward in the process and make a determination at that point", Sanders replied, before moving on to a friendlier line of questioning from John Gizzi, who works for the conservative outlet Newsmax.

"Can you say yet when Michael Cohen stopped being the president's personal lawyer?" the correspondent wondered.

"I'm not going to speak about hypotheticals or get into a what could happen if". "You'd have to reach out to the president's outside counsel".

The question at Thursday's briefing came a month after Trump told Fox News that Cohen was representing him in the Stormy Daniels case.
