All the four sisters Geeta, Babita, Ritu and Sangeeta have been absent from the camp and the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has asked for an explanation.

Babita also said that Geeta was in Bangalore training at a private facility and she has no knowledge why her sister hasn't joined the camp yet.

The erring wrestlers will be prohibited from participating in the trials for the forthcoming Asian Games. "Moreover, they won't be allowed to appear for the Asian Games trials." said Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of WFI.

"It looks all of them are not taking the camp seriously".

This means their hopes of representing the country in the Asian Games 2018, which is to be held in Jakarta and Palembang (Indonesia) in August-September this year, ends.

The WFI had been criticized for not reacting to complaints of indiscipline against Geeta and Babita but the governing body has swiftly taken action against the star wrestlers this time after they failed to join the mandatory national training camps, according to The Times of India. "So we have told them to sit at home and enjoy", he said.

He capped it off by saying, "Let them first come to us and explain the reasons behind their actions".

When Babita was contacted regarding the issue, she cited knee injuries as the reason for her absence from the camp.

"I didn't receive anything from the federation". The national camp for men and women's national are being simultaneously conducted in Sonepat and Lucknow from May 10 to 25. I admit I haven't informed the federation yet but I will send an application to them today itself, "Babita told PTI".

According to Babita, her sisters Ritu and Sangeeta were waiting for their visas to take part in a training camp in Russian Federation. I thought she has joined the camp.

Geeta became a celebrity with her stunning gold-medal performance in 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Like her sister, Babita also clinched a gold medal in the 2014 Glasgow CWG and claimed a silver at last month's Gold Coast edition of the Games. Another big name to have been barred from the national camp is Satyawart Kadian, husband of Rio Olympics bronze-medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik.
