Eversource said more than 70,000 of its overall customers have already had their power restored - but there were another 79,000 to go.

Facing hard conditions, Eversource tree and line crews are working non-stop to fix the extensive damage caused by straight-line winds, lightning and hail that ripped through Connecticut Tuesday afternoon.

Utility workers continued efforts Wednesday to restore power to thousands of Brookfield customers who lost it to severe weather a day earlier. Restoration times are available below. Almost every road in town was impacted.

"Emergency lights are done, [so] we're going off of lanterns and cash", said Dave Damura.

Eversource says customers should report outages at its website or by calling 800-286-2000.

Additionally, customers who are without power and plan to use a generator are reminded to be sure the generator is located well away from their home or business and that the transfer switch is working properly.
