Deandre Ayton Would Love To Be Drafted By Phoenix Suns

Gertz, who is best known for her roles in TV shows such as "Square Pegs" and "Seinfeld" and films including "The Lost Boys" and "Less Than Zero", was there representing the Atlanta Hawks.

The Grizzlies can feel slightly aggrieved by falling outside the top three having come into the lottery with the second-best odds of winning. Yes, the Phoenix Suns will have the first pick, what direction that they will go with the selection is not an easy answer. They've earned this pick.

"Everyone's going to talk before the draft, of course". In a span of a few weeks, they've watched their head coach Mike Budenholzer resign and their Point guard Dennis Schroder voice his discontent of being apart of a potential tanking operation and began suggesting the teams he would like to be traded to. This will be the first time ever that the Kings will have the second pick in the draft during the Sacramento era. Built like a prime-body Dwight Howard with the smooth interior and mid-range skillset of a rapidly-developing modern-day big, he seems like the ideal choice to insert at the center position and have Bender and former lottery pick Marquis Christ battle for who will be their ideal starting power forward.

Last year's first-round pick, Josh Jackson, had a tremendous rookie season.

Jackson's presence along with extra ping pong balls finally delivered the top pick. All bets are that either Ayton or Duke Sensation Marvin Bagley will fall in their lap at three and they can build there from the inside out. Ayton snagged 11 rebounds per game at Arizona, eight of those coming on the defensive end.

To one National Basketball Association front-office executive, that criticism sounded familiar - it was much the same for Detroit center Andre Drummond when he came out of CT in 2012. "Two teams behind us jumped up, and it is what it is".

"We were told a lot of the same things about Drummond (six) years ago, that he didn't love basketball and didn't care enough about improving and that he would disappear for whole sections of a game", the exec said. "But you just take the results, and now it's time to work". "You see it every year".

Deandre Ayton might be going back to Arizona after all. But he said that, at minimum, he'd expect Ayton to be similar to Drummond, except as a better scorer and not as prolific a rebounder. If he'd been the 5, he'd have been at the rim, he'd have blocked more shots, he'd have been a lot more active in that defense. As the DMN news pointed out last night, the last 10 fifth overall picks haven't turned out all that well. Booker has raised his scoring average each year, and last year averaged 25 points per game.

"But if the question is have I ever thought twice about Marcus Smart shooting it, no, let it fly, and I believe wholeheartedly on these stages and in these moments he makes big ones".
