Brace yourselves for this one.

Halo: Fireteam Raven is the result of a collaboration between arcade producer Raw Thrills (makers of such arcade adaptations as Jurassic Park Arcade, Aliens Armageddon, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), arcade developer Play Mechanix, and 343 Industries. Whether you're slaying Covenant soldiers, destroying space crafts, or exterminating the parasitic lifeform the Flood, Halo: Fireteam Raven will offer everything great about the Halo series despite being an arcade experience. The game itself looks like an entry into the familiar lightgun genre that allows up to four players to pick up their peripheral weapons and do battle against a variety of foes from the Halo universe. Up to four players can play the game at once, with each player taking control of a turret-mounted machine gun.

Set in the same timeframe as the popular 2001 military shooter, players will step into the boots of a soldier who is a proud member of Fireteam Raven - an elite squadron of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (or ODST for short) with the goal of preventing the Covenant alliance from claiming the titular superweapon. It's a daunting arcade cabinet that has reportedly taken quite some time to develop. According to the press release, Halo: Fireteam Raven is now being co-developed by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix. "After years of development, it is now ready".

"We couldn't be happier to announce this project and have had an absolute blast working with Eugene Jarvis - one of my personal heroes and inspirations - and the wonderful team of talented designers and creators at Raw Thrills", said Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Industries.

Play Halo: Fireteam Raven first this summer at Dave & Busters in the United States and Canada, and expanding to more locations this Fall.
